Where to Publish SEO Articles

by Jason Clegg on September 29, 2008

Not sure where to publish SEO articles for the best results? The answer to this question depends on your goals, where you are in the SEO process, and what you’re trying to achieve with article marketing.

SEO Web Content Pages

The first answer – and perhaps the most important answer – is to publish your SEO articles on the actual pages of your website.  You can do this near specific products for e-commerce websites or on your blog for service-oriented websites.  If your website itself includes lots of relevant content for your particular niche, you will rank much higher in search results than your competitors.

Article Submission and Article Distribution

The next places to consider for publishing SEO content are article directory websites.  Directories like EzineArticles.com and ArticleBase.com can help you obtain much higher search engine rankings than you might otherwise obtain with your own website.  Plus, a high quality SEO article can help you draw in traffic to the article directory that can then be delivered to your website via an anchor text link.  This is great traffic to receive because the visitors will be “pre-sold” on your product or service even before they arrive!

Other Websites and Social Media Networks

Of course, the opportunities for publishing content on the web are virtually unlimited these days.  New social media websites like Squidoo are really taking off and providing value to users looking to capture and redirect traffic.

Article Marketing Works with SEO Content

The most important lesson here is that well written, optimized content will work wonders for you wherever you use it.  Ideally, you should be publishing SEO articles to your website, an article directory, and social media networks.  Just be sure to keep each submission unique to get the very best results.  These days, Internet Marketing is highly competitive.  If you hope to stay in the game, you will need to work that much harder than the competition.

Ezinearticles, goarticles, amazines.com, and others are great. Ezinearticles is known to be #1 because of pagerank. Now one thing to remember is some of these (not the ones above) have no follows added, which means you do not receive pagerank from those sites. You mentioned articlesbase.com, which I think is one of those sites if I am not mistaken.

Justin,

Great point! “Do follow” links on sites like ArticleBase.com may not allow for PageRank to pass to your site and boost rankings. That said, these links can be a great traffic generator.

Thanks for the comment!

Am I correct in thinking that whether link juice passes from the authority site to yours or not the thing to remember is “You still get a vote” for your site i.e. a back link?
Granted high page rank links are what we’re all after but a link is better than nothing surely??

@Andy — Yes, you’re absolutely right. Traffic is also an important consideration for article marketing, as is long-term placement in search engines by leveraging the size and authority of large article directories.

Thanks for the comment!
